Christopher Krier was driving "in an aggressive manner" and tailgating the driver in front of him at about 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 when the driver rolled down her window and commented about children being in the area, North Wildwood police said on Facebook.

Both drivers pulled over near New Jersey and 13th avenues and got out of their cars, police said. Krier allegedly attacked the woman, putting his hands on her neck before a bystander intervened and he fled, police said.

Krier surrendered several days later and was charged with aggravated assault.

He was taken to the Cape May County jail.

The North Wildwood Police Department reminded the public that road rage incidents can quickly escalate: ” We advise the public to contact the police department to report aggressive driving, rather than taking things into their own hands," the department said on Facebook.
